【Important】Switch to the Myna Health Insurance Card as Current Health Insurance Cards End!

We would like to inform you that your current  health insurance card will become unusable after its expiration date on December 1, 2025.  (If eligibility ends before the expiration date, it will be invalidated at that time and must be returned.)

Going forward, insurance verification will primarily be conducted using the Myna (My Number) Health Insurance Card.Therefore, we kindly request those who have not yet applied for a Myna Health Insurance Card  either because you haven't been issued a my Number card or haven't yet registered it for health insurance use  to proceed promptly with its registration.

It has been reported that the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare plans to allow people to receive medical treatment at the designated copayment rate until March 2026 if they present their current health insurance card after December 2, 2025 and confirm their eligibility with the insured person number as a temporary measure in conjunction with the switch to the My Number health insurance card. However, at present(July 10th), this transitional measure only applies to National Health Insurance subscribers.

Even if your eligibility cannot be verified using a Myna Health Insurance Card, you can still get medical care covered by health insurance using either of the following forms:

This form, which makes it easy to check member code/numbers and other information, is sent to all members in principle. (Sent to new members from December 2, 2024.)
Note that you cannot get medical care covered by health insurance using just a notice of eligibility information. You can get medical care covered by health insurance by presenting this form together with your Myna health insurance card, in cases such as when visiting a medical care institution that is not required to adopt the online eligibility verification system.

Those who do not have an Individual Number Card or who have not registered their Individual Number Card for use as a health insurance card can use this form to get medical care at medical care institutions and other facilities.
From December 2, 2024, Eligibility Verification Certificates will be issued upon application, but the YG Health Insurance Society will issue by its authority the certificates to those who cannot use a Myna health insurance card. However, if you have a valid health insurance card during the transitional period until December 1, 2025, you may not be issued an Eligibility Verification Certificate even if you apply.
An Eligibility Verification Certificate has an expiration date. Additionally, it must be returned to the YG Health Insurance Society if the bearer loses eligibility before the expiration date.
