Childbirth (with additional benefits)

“A Childbirth and Childcare Lump-Sum Grant” is paid when an insured person gives birth. “A Dependents' Childbirth and Childcare Lump-Sum Grant” is paid when a dependent family member gives birth. Don't forget to add the newborn as a dependent in these cases.

Request a Childbirth and Childcare Lump-Sum Grant

When using the system of direct payment of Childbirth and Childcare Lump-sum Grant to medical institutions

Submit the documents on agreement to use the system to the medical care institution or other facility where you plan to give birth. (You need not take any action with respect to the Health Insurance Society. For details, check with the medical care institution or other facility where you plan to give birth.)
You do not need to apply the additional Lump-sum Grant benefit for childbirth and childcare.
Because YG Health Insurance Society will process the additional Lump-sum Grant benefit when the medical institution bills YG Health Insurance Society for 500,000 yen in childbirth expenses two to three months after the birth.
The insured person will be automatically paid later through the company's salary, so no procedure is required.
