FY2026: Notice Regarding Health Consultations and Medications

At the YG Health Insurance Society, we are committed to preventing the progression of lifestyle-related diseases and helping our members live longer, healthier lives. Based on your health checkup results, we are reaching out to those who may require further medical consultation to help prevent the onset or worsening of any conditions.

In addition, following national guidelines, we provide guidance on the "Appropriate Use of Medications" and "Promotion of Generic Drugs."

If you receive this notice, we strongly encourage you to visit a medical institution and consult with your primary care physician as soon as possible. Please note that you may still receive this notice even if you have already seen a doctor or are currently reviewing your medications.

Notifications are primarily sent via postal mail (with some exceptions).

Details of Notifications

1. Lifestyle-Related Diseases

Using health checkup results and medical claims data held by the Health Insurance Association, we send follow-up consultation recommendations to members who have exceeded the recommended threshold but have not yet visited a medical institution.
Leaving lifestyle-related diseases untreated can lead to serious conditions and various complications. To prevent the onset or progression of these diseases, it is crucial to consult a medical professional (specialist) at an early stage and manage your health through lifestyle improvements and medical treatment.

Individuals who meet both conditions ① and ② below:
① Based on FY2026 health checkup results, those who meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Fasting Blood Sugar: 140 mg/dL or higher
- HbA1c: 7.0% or higher (NGSP value)
- Systolic Blood Pressure: 160 mmHg or higher
- Diastolic Blood Pressure: 100 mmHg or higher
- Triglycerides: 500 mg/dL or higher
- HDL Cholesterol: Less than 34 mg/dL
- LDL Cholesterol: 180 mg/dL or higher

② Individuals whose medical records do not show a consultation within the 3 months prior to or 3 months following their health checkup.
- Checkups from May to Sept: Around February 2027
- Checkups from Oct to Nov: Around April 2027

2. Cancer-Related Notifications

Notifications are sent to individuals whose overall checkup results indicate that a follow-up medical consultation is required. Please note that results such as "Re-examination Required" or "Detailed Testing Required" do not necessarily mean that cancer has been detected. Please review the specific details in the "Health Checkup Result Report" sent to you by your medical institution and schedule a consultation as soon as possible.
If you inform us of your consultation status via the enclosed reply postcard or our web portal, we will send you a small token of our appreciation. We encourage you to respond once you have received the notice and completed your consultation.

Among those who had their checkups through Wellness Communications Corp., individuals whose results for the following items indicate a need for further medical consultation:
- Chest X-ray
- Stomach Exam (Gastric X-ray / Gastroscopy)
- Fecal Occult Blood Test (Stool Test)
- Cervical Cancer Screening (Cervical Cytology / Transvaginal Ultrasound / Pelvic Exam)
- Breast Cancer Screening (Breast Ultrasound / Mammography / Physical Exam)
- PSA (Prostate Cancer Tumor Marker)
- Abdominal Ultrasound

Ongoing (Typically sent about 2 months after your health checkup)

3. Viral Hepatitis

Even if you are infected with the hepatitis virus, there are often few to no noticeable symptoms. Since the condition can progress to cirrhosis or liver cancer without you realizing it, please consult a local liver specialist if your test results are positive.

Individuals who tested positive for Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C virus.
- Checkups from May to Aug: Around December 2026
- Checkups from Sept to Dec: Around April 2027

4. Prevention of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Progression

We send notifications to individuals at risk for Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) to encourage proactive measures and prevent the condition from worsening. For your medical consultation, we recommend visiting a Nephrology department or an Internal Medicine clinic with a kidney specialist.

Individuals whose health checkup results show an eGFR of less than 60 AND urinary protein of (±) or higher.

Notification Period :
- Around late November 2026
- Around mid-March 2027

5. Dental Care

The goal of this program is to maintain your oral health and prevent cavities and periodontal disease through regular dental checkups. To prevent symptoms from worsening and becoming harder to treat due to long gaps between visits, we encourage you to take this opportunity to see a dentist.
Individuals aged 35 and older who have no record of dental visits for 3 consecutive years and are considered high-risk (due to factors such as smoking, high blood sugar, alcohol consumption, snacking habits, or bite alignment).

Notification Period :
- Around late July 2026

6. Osteoporosis Measures

A bone density test measures bone strength and is useful for the early detection of osteoporosis.
It serves as an important indicator for identifying potential bone loss caused by lifestyle factors or individual constitution, and for guiding appropriate preventive measures or treatment.
If you have received this notice, we recommend that you consider scheduling a medical consultation as soon as possible.
Eligible Individuals
Female insured members aged 40 or older who underwent a health checkup through Wellness Communications Corp. and whose bone density test results were assessed as “Re-examination Required,” “Medical Consultation Required,” or “Treatment Required.”

Notification Period :
- Around January 2027 (via PepUp)

7. Polypharmacy Notification

This service provides guidance on the appropriate use of medication. We send these notices to individuals who are prescribed a high number of medications or whose combination of drugs may require caution. Interactions between medications prescribed by different medical institutions, departments, or pharmacies can sometimes cause undesirable symptoms or unintended signs (adverse events). If you receive this notice, please consult your primary care physician or pharmacist with this document and your medication notebook (Okusuri Techo).

*Individuals aged 18 and older who may experience adverse events due to the use of multiple medications (polypharmacy).

Notification Period :
- Around November 2026

8. Generic Drug Notifications

Based on your past prescription history, we send notifications to those prescribed brand-name drugs that can be switched to generics. These notices estimate how much you could save on out-of-pocket expenses. By switching from brand-name drugs to generic drugs, you can reduce your costs at the pharmacy counter.

*Please note that switching to a generic drug may not be possible depending on your physician's medical judgment.
*This notification is not intended to force a switch for those who feel uneasy about generic medications.

Individuals whose potential savings would be ¥1,000 or more over a 3-month period when comparing brand-name drugs to their generic counterparts.
